25 May 2012 | New Zealand business Tait Communications is behind the radio network that will be used by the emergency services on standby at the upcoming United States Democratic National Convention.

The company has won a contract to supply a secure digital radio network for police and fire services in Concord, NC and Charlotte, NC, at the convention in September. The network will be based on P25 technology.

Tait’s digital handheld and vehicle-mounted radios also recently gained approval by Mississippi emergency services and government agency personnel. It has similar approvals from seven other states’ networks.
